VO2 Max and Blood Lactate Testing:
VO2 max testing, including warm up and discussion will typically last about an hour and a half. Pre test it is advised that athletes do not engage in any intense training for the 2 days prior to the test (some light sessions less than 45 minutes are OK). If you are testing on both the bike and the run it is advised that the athlete leave at least 2 days (preferably 4) between tests. The bike test should always be done first.
With a single test on either the bike or the run the athlete can expect the following data:
- VO2 max and sub max values.
- Exact caloric demands of both carbohydrate and fats at different heart rate zones.
- Blood lactate values at different intensity levels (used for trending and heart rate zone approximation)
- On the bike we will warm up and evaluate the athletes efficiency, power and torque angles (where you develop torque in your pedal stroke) and spin scan analysis which allows us to determine inefficiencies of left versus right leg.
- Complete breakdown of heart rate training zones.
- Hydration analysis.
- Full report and meeting (about a half hour) to discuss test results and adaptations to your current training protocol.
Duration: 1.5 hours.

$350 +HST for 2 tests (either bike and run, or 2 single sport tests)
VO2 Max test:
Same test as above without the blood lactate testing.
Duration: 1-1.5 hours
Cost: $150+HST
VO2 Sub max test on the bike and run:
Ideal for Ironman athletes, this test will analyze the exact training and racing zones for the athlete. It is two tests on the bike and run done in the same session, the athlete can expect the following data:
- Determination of the optimal training and racing zones for both bike and run.
- Exact caloric expenditure on both the bike and run including a break down of fats versus carbs.
- Blood lactate testing to determine optimal blood lactate balance point.
- Complete hydration analysis on the bike and run.
- In depth power, torque and spin scan analysis on the bike to determine inefficiencies of left versus right leg.
- Full report and meeting (about a half hour) to discuss test results and adaptations to your current training protocol.
Duration: 2-2.5 hours

Resting metabolic Rate test (RMR):
Your Resting metabolic rate is the rate at which your body burns calories at rest. A simple 12-15 minute sit down test which analyses the ratio of oxygen versus carbon dioxide. Accurate to a margin of error of less than one percent, this is the only way to know exactly how many calories you burn at rest.
Duration: 45 minutes
Cost: $75+HST
Body Fat Analysis:
Using the Bodymetrix system, 4 to 9 body points are measured using ultra sound technology. This testing method lets you scan, see and track fat loss and muscle gain on a point by point basis. Considered more accurate than skin calipers without the risk of operator error or embarrassing and invasive pinching.
Duration: 30 minutes
Cost: $50+HST
RMR + Bodyfat:
Combine both the resting metabolic rate test with bodyfat analysis in one session.
Duration: 1 hour
Cost: $100+HST
